uNAT 2023 Question Formats

The questions in the competition came in three primary formats: subject matter, category-based, and โ€˜win or pick upโ€™.

Subject Matter

Here, questions are focused on a specific subject that contestants choose, like mathematics, chemistry, or biology. e.t.c.

Category-Based Questions

There are six categories (music, lifestyle, economics, geography, sports, and current affairs). Each contestant picks a category, and everyone has to answer questions from that category for that round. Once that round is over, another contestant will choose again until everyone has had a chance.

Win or Pickup

Contestants choose numbers from a range (e.g., 1 to 20) and answer the question attached to that number within 20 seconds (note that as the competition advanced, the time for answers decreased). If correct, they win points; if incorrect, another contestant can pick it up and earn bonus points.
