In an exciting development in digital education, uLesson partnered with the GIFTAC Empowerment Foundation to support students at Government Junior Secondary School, Kpadna, Jabi. This partnership aimed to enhance the academic preparation of 25 selected students for their Junior WAEC exams using the innovative uLesson app.
This initiative provided the students with access to the uLesson app on devices supplied by GIFTAC, helping them prepare effectively for their Junior WAEC exams.
Why This Project Matters
uLesson is committed to investing in children’s education and promoting digital literacy. By exposing students to the benefits of digital resources like the uLesson app, uLesson aims to improve their academic performance and broaden their understanding of technology in education.
This project was not just about preparing for exams. It introduced students to a new way of learning that was interactive, engaging, and accessible. Through education technology, uLesson and GIFTAC hope to make a lasting impact on the students’ education.
A Month of Intensive Learning
The programme began on May 2, 2024, with Kehinde Deborah, the Head of Curriculum at uLesson, teaching instructors and students how to use the uLesson app. This session highlighted the app’s features and the rich content available to help the students in their studies.
Throughout May, study classes were held every Saturday, providing the students with continuous support and guidance. The GIFTAC-trained instructors played a crucial role in enhancing the students’ learning experiences. They ensured that students made the most of the digital resources available.
Engaging and Effective Learning
One of the most popular features of the uLesson app during the programme was the multiplayer quiz. This interactive feature turned learning into a fun and competitive activity, making it hard for the students to stop playing. The quizzes, along with the app’s extensive video library and engaging animations, made studying more enjoyable and effective.
The students were particularly enthusiastic about the exercises, quizzes, and practice exams available on the app. Their eagerness to learn and engage with the content was evident in their beaming faces and persistent efforts.
A Productive Partnership
The partnership between uLesson and the GIFTAC Foundation proved to be very productive. The uLesson app significantly impacted the students’ learning experiences, providing them with valuable tools to prepare for their exams. In addition to that, the project exposed the students to digital literacy, highlighting its benefits for both students and educators.
We await the students’ results with a sense of optimism and anticipation. No doubt, the month-long programme has left a positive mark on their learning journeys, and we look forward to paving the way for a brighter future.
