In the span of a mere week, uLesson achieved two remarkable milestones—launching the uLesson Classboard in Yaba and Lekki, Lagos, on Tuesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 21, 2024, respectively. This comes two weeks after the inaugural launch in Abuja.

uLesson is not just committed to helping students love learning. We’re also committed to helping teachers love teaching in an efficient way. That is why at the core of the innovative uLesson Classboard is an understanding of the challenges teachers face in delivering quality education.

The Heart of the uLesson Classboard

Like AyoOluwa Nihinlola, CEO of uLesson K-12, explained at the Mainland launch, “Our learner-focused app, the uLesson Classboard was built differently with educators and teachers in mind.” Working closely with schools and teachers, Classboard was developed to provide comprehensive support within classrooms.

AyoOluwa highlighted the crucial role of teachers, stating, “We believe that the work of the teacher cannot be replicated by technology or a machine—their knowledge, ideas, and experience. That’s why this product is built around empowering teachers in the classroom. We don’t want to take teachers out of the classroom; we want to support how they deliver better lessons and classes.”

At the Island launch, Iheanyi Akwitti, the Senior Vice President of Academics and Curriculum at the uLesson Group, highlighted the expertise of the team behind the development and continuous enhancement of the Classboard. He said, “What uLesson builds for grades 1 to 12 is a synergy from the best of the best teachers in Nigeria. So it’s important for you to know that everything you see on the uLesson Classboard, hardware and software combined, was built by teachers.”

The Future of Education: Reimagining Education in the Digital Age

Gracing the Mainland launch event as the keynote speaker, Mrs. Ayopeju Njideaka, CEO of Nurture House, stressed the importance of educators having the right attitude and skills in addition to having the right tools.

She said, “I don’t call the uLesson Classboard a product; I call it a solution. In fact, it’s a bundle of solutions. But no matter how fantastic a bundle of solutions is, if the person who’s going to bridge the gap between the students and the bundle of solutions doesn’t have the right attitude and skills, among other things, then we haven’t really started.”

Likewise, on the topic of the future of education at the Island launch, Dr. Toyin Sam-Emehelu, CEO of Coreskills Transformational Academy Limited and keynote speaker, emphasised the need for immersive learning experiences and personalised pathways for learners.

She also urged educators to embrace digital tools to shape the future of education. “We all have to embrace evolution. We have to adapt to change and look forward to actively shaping what fosters inclusivity, accessibility, and lifelong learning for all,” she said.

Lucky Winners of the Raffle

In the same manner as the Abuja launch, the launches in Lagos included raffles, adding some excitement to the events. Attendees who committed to the Classboard had the chance to win prizes such as a trip to Rwanda or a MacBook. Learn, Play, and Grow Learning Centre and Holy Child College were the lucky winners at the Yaba and Lekki launches, respectively.
